Jr Graphic Designer

The Junior Graphic Designer is either a new graduate from a design program or has 1-2 years of industry experience who will be responsible for supporting the creative direction for local and national campaigns at Source For Sports.

The Junior Graphic Designer will work under the direction of our Senior Digital & Graphic Designer to create and coordinate electronic and/or printed graphic materials. This individual will use their knowledge of specialized design concepts, media, and software tools to develop comprehensive layouts and produce marketing collateral to promote and expand the company’s brand awareness and messaging.

Knowledge of the following programs and practices is required:

• Creative Suite CS6 – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Final Cut Pro X / After Effects
• Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
• Photography & Video Editing

Main Duties

• Produce attractive and effective designs for all media – digital, print such as flyers, in-store POP, print ads, displays, publications, marketing materials, website, and other media channels
• Inspect proofs for accuracy and adherence to corporate standards
• Provide technical graphics assistance to marketing team and retailers across Canada
• Coordinate and maintain a library of graphics, media, digital records, and other enterprise content
• Where necessary, write and edit marketing copy, Web copy, etc.
• Communicate with senior team members to ensure designs are effective and on point with branding

• Well versed in the latest graphic design methods, practices, techniques, and associated principles
• Solid design and conceptual skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback from superiors
• Effective deadline management and project management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders
• Ability to analyze and interpret user requirements
• Ability to take direction from Senior Digital & Graphic Designer
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure and work on multiple projects simultaneously
