It’s not you, it’s me.

OKD has been helping smokers “Break It Off” with smoking through our efforts for the Canadian Cancer Society. “Break It Off” is a social campaign targeting smokers across Canada and encouraging them to end their relationship with tobacco.

A recently released Social Media Impact Report demonstrated excellent progress and strong impact from the campaign.

We are making an impact:

  • 67% of respondents said that the content on the “Break It Off” social pages motivated them to quit smoking or to cut back and 55% said that the content supported them to quit smoking or cut back.
  • 96% of respondents made positive progression on the stages of change with 23% who have made a quit attempt, 11% have cut back on the number of cigarettes smoked and 62% of respondents have started to think about quitting smoking or cutting back.

We are reaching the right people:

  • 73% of respondents first heard about “Break It Off” through our digital and social campaign
  • 68% of respondents are current smokers
